Honestly, not a lot happened this week. Sure there was the release of the new Evil Dead trailer, and new promotional trailers came out for Oz: The Great and Powerful. Also the trailer for Utopia came out, a new British series for Channel Four. I have to say, it’s a pretty crappy trailer that shows absolutely nothing, but the idea, about a graphic novel from the past that seems to have predicted events throughout the 20th century, well, that could be compelling.

What else? George Lucas got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Mellody Hobson who is the chairman of Dreamworks Animation. Meanwhile the rumour mill is going with stories that the BBC will be releasing new Doctor Who novels penned by some famous authors like Neil Gaiman or JK Rowling. No idea if there’s any truth to it though.

Finally, the big news on the web is a feel-good story that actually sounds a lot like the plot of Fanboys. According to SFX a Star Trek fan named Dan who is fighting two types of cancer, was granted his dying wish by J.J. Abrams: a preview of the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness. So glad the folks over at Bad Robot and Paramount were able to grant this request for him. You can read the note that Dan’s wife left after the screening, over at trekmovie.com.
