Daleks on Westminster Bridge

Hope you guys had a good week. We’ve been busy on a mystery project. Check out my tweets for pictures of the project as it progresses. In the meantime, we had to track down ECCC passes for a friend of ours. Wow. I can’t believe they sold out of the Saturday/3-Day passes before the con. I must admit, it makes me cringe. I don’t much care for crowds. But I do like scifi, so there you go. We also watched ParaNorman this week. I quite liked it. I love the work that Laika is doing right now, especially that animation sequence at the end, you’ll know the one I’m talking about.

So I lied to you when said that Stephanie had left us and won’t be doing anymore Community reviews. As a matter of fact, she has someone taking over for her, so this week, and mostly likely for the rest of the season, you guys will be getting not one but two weekly Community reviews. Here’s mine and here’s Not-Stephanie’s.

I also did a review for Pulling up Stakes 2, the second half of Peter David’s ebook.

In Doctor Who news, SFX had a video earlier this week from Mark Gatiss as he gets ready to recreate a scene in which 1960s style Daleks invade Westminster in the upcoming An Adventure in Space and Time. SFX are also reporting that actor Nicholas Briggs who currently voices the Daleks will be doing a cameo as Peter Hawkins, the original voice of the Daleks.

The Saturn Award Nominations posted earlier this week. As you can imagine, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey did particularly well with nine nominations. The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and Looper have also done particularly well.

THR states that Orlando Jones and Katia Winter have both signed on for the upcoming Sleepy Hollow TV series penned by Fringe writers Kurtzman and Orci. The series will have a time travel element in which Ichabod Crane is transported from the 18th century to present day Sleepy Hollow. Winter will play Crane’s wife, while Jones will play a modern day police detective new to town.
