Hey everyone! Once again we spent the week outdoors as much as possible which has meant not too much geeky stuff going on around here. We did get out pulse rifle, and I need to post some pictures of that. The thing’s got quite a bit of heft to it. Which isn’t exactly a bad thing when you’re battling xenomorphs.
We did take a reprieve from the sunshine to watch Iron Man 3. I personally loved it. Still not as great as the first one, but enjoyable all the same. You can check out my Iron Man 3 review here.
Speaking of movies, two trailers that I’ve been really looking forward to seeing came out this week, the new Simon Pegg/Nick Frost/Edgar Wright Cornetto movie, The World’s End and the movie adaptation of Ender’s Game. Both of these look really good. I can’t wait!
On a not-so-happy note, special effects whiz Ray Harryhausen passed away earlier this week. Harryhausen was of course known for such memorable movies as Sinbad and Clash of the Titans. His work in stop-motion effects was pure genius. Even if you’re too young to remember the movies he was directly involved in, you have to appcreiate the amount of film directors who were inspired by his work, such as George Lucas and Peter Jackson.
