• How has your week been going? Ours has been pretty quiet. We decided to stay away from the SDCC coverage this year, so following it after the fact has been a pleasure. Karen Gillan is now bald! I loved watching all the new trailers, some of which I posted down below.

 • I'm really excited today because we got to interview Kris Hambrick and Joy DeLyria, the folks behind Hello Earth, a local theatrical company in Seattle who put on Star Trek episodes in the park.

 • Hello! How is your week treating you? Not too much going on at the IGP offices. Monday I dragged Webmonkey Rob to Snoqualmie Falls. If you're a Twin Peaks fan you'll know the waterfall from the opening credits. Also the nearby Salish Lodge provided exterior shots for the Great Northern hotel. The inner geek in me was happy, and so was the nature nerd.

 • ExoSquad was probably the first really compelling, complex cartoon series I had ever watched when I first discovered it as a teen in the 90s. There's a reason for that, since it was an American response to Japanese anime.

 • The science fiction cartoon adaptation of Spaceballs caught us a little off guard here at the offices of IGP. To be honest, it had been talked about for so long, we weren’t even aware it was finished until right before it aired. It’s an okay cartoon, but it lacks much of the flair of the original movie, resorting to cheap boob jokes most of the time. Well, okay, the movie did that as well, but they also had a stellar cast and a distinct lack of low-budget Flash-type animation. It got us thinking about all the animated spin-off series that have come and gone. Some never got off the ground at all, while others were quickly cancelled.

 • Hello! How has your week been? Mine has been the usual geeky fun. We're still enamoured by Fortune and Glory, breezing through the Indiana Jones movies so we have more quotes to add during gameplay. I also just bought a copy of Willow the Board Game as a birthday present to myself.

 • I feel bad that I didn't make more of an effort to try and see Cloud Atlas in the cinema. After all, aren't I the one always complaining how movies nowadays are either superhero blockbusters, or remakes and sequels? But as it is, I ended up catching Cloud Atlas on blu-ray, and I am very glad I made the effort.
