Inter-Galaxy Portal News RoundUp 15th November 2013

Night of the Doctor

Hey to everyone reading this very much delayed round up. Thanks for being patient with me. My father passed away November 1st and it has been a very rough couple of weeks. I miss him very much. I can’t say he was a huge scifi buff, but I remember him sitting there marathoning through 70s Battlestar Galactica with me. It’s memories like that which I cherish right now.

Although I have been out of the world, I have been clinging to my love of scifi. I went to see Ender’s Game, which, though flawed, I very much enjoyed. I saw Europa Report, which I also really liked. I’m also caught up now on Agents of SHIELD, which is still fairly meh. Speaking of Marvel, Netflix has apparently announced that they will make five Marvel miniseries. Hopefully they will be better than AoS. We’ll see. In the meantime, I will try to have reviews up soon, but no guarantees. I’m taking it day by day right now.

As most of you know, there’s a new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. SFX also has an article about the creation of a new character to get female viewers. Personally, I’m not attached to the text, so I have no problem with it, but I’m sure plenty of people are cringing.

Star Wars Episode VIII gets a release date. Mark your calendar for 18th December 2015 people!

Check out the trailer for the new Robocop remake.

The new Divergent trailer still looks “too pretty.” I just got done with Allegiant, and aside from the ending, the writing was just really bad, What happened?

Watch the new trailer for Maleficent. I have to admit, it looks interesting.

Finally, Doctor Who news! First, we have the trailer for The Day of the Doctor.

Next we have the minisode prequel The Night of the Doctor.
