Inter-Galaxy Portal News RoundUp 1st November 2013

Hello, this Day of the Dead. How was everyone’s Halloween? Since I am writing this on Thursday for posting tomorrow, I can’t say for sure how mine went. However pumpkins are out, and I have vague plans to light a fire, perhaps watch some Buffy and play Last Night On Earth. Earlier this week we watched the first Evil Dead movie. I’d seen Part 2, many years ago, but Webmonkey Rob hadn’t watched either of the first two films, and insisted on watching the first one first. Yikes. I have to say, I know it’s a cult hit, but sometimes “cult” doesn’t actually mean “good”. I seem to recall the second one being better, and of course I loved Army of Darkness.

Anyway, in Inter-Galaxy Portal news this week, I interviewed Jane Espenson! Actually, I interviewed her a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t get to put the article up until now. Jane is one of my favourite television writers. Check out the interview with Jane and others at our new interviews section!

The big trailer release of the week was for X-Men: Days of Future Past. I have to admit, I haven’t been a fan of the past few X-Men movies, but this looks good!

Everyone’s favourite alien fighter, Sigourney Weaver has signed up for Neil Blomkamp’s latest film, Chappie. Like District 9 before it, Chappie is based on another Neil Blomkamp short film, Tetra Vaal. Check out the film and find out more about Chappie at SFX.

Finally, Hammer have released the trailer for their first film since The Woman in Black. The movie, titled The Quiet Ones, is about a professor who teams up with his students to create a poltergeist. If you’re in England, you can go to SFX and watch the trailer there but alas, Hammer has not released it for U.S. viewers, which is kinda frustrating when you run a news site.
