Film Reviews

Inception Review A-

Inception proves to be the thinking man’s action movie and further cements Christopher Nolan’s role as the most exciting director currently working in Hollywood.

2010 Movie Review (B-)

The team at IGP decide to check out the 1984 movie “2010” and see just how accurate it actually was.

Avatar Review A-

Avatar is being hailed as the movie that will change movie making forever. And I believe it!

District 9 Review B

The summer blockbuster season ends with a bang as one of the most original science fiction movies of the year bursts onto the screen courtesy of producer Peter Jackson and director Neill Blomkamp.

Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince Review B

This latest Harry Potter movie is perhaps the most faithful adaptation yet, but it still lacks the great emotional sequences and action set pieces that Rowling creates in her novel.

Terminator Salvation Review C-

We didn’t have high hopes for this movie being that the third movie was such a travesty, when in fact Terminator Salvation did the unthinkable. It actually made T3 look better.

Star Trek Review C

The new Star Trek movie should have done what Casino Royale did for the Bond franchise. Unfortunately, it ended up being more like Quantum of Solace. At the risk of getting lynched, this movie needed a more competent director.

Watchmen Review A-

It only took twenty years for this (supposedly unfilmable) movie to finally be made, and IGPNicki has the lowdown right here. Spoilers ahead!!

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian B

Prince Caspian features a much darker Narnia than the previous movie. More LOTR, bloodless hack n’ slash than cute little Narnia, however it is still fairly enjoyable.

X-Files: I Want to Believe C+

Lets face it, the critics really butchered this movie. So I wasn’t sure what to expect. Like Hancock, this was actually a pleasant surprise. Akin to finding an old pair of shoes that you thought you’d thrown out. Nice and comfortable… but the soles are all worn down.

Hancock DVD Review B-

I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this movie after all the reviews I’d read about it. Having seen it, I’d say it’s a mixed bag. Parts contain brilliant moments of subversive humour, and other parts… not so much.

Top Ten Horror Films

In the spirit of Halloween, we decided to come up with our own Top Ten Horror Films list. If you haven’t seen one of these movies yet, please move on to the next movie, this list does contain SPOILERS. You have been warned readers!

The Incredible Hulk DVD Review C

After the amazing job that Marvel Studios did on Iron Man, I was curious to see how the Incredible Hulk would be. Not least because I knew there would be a crossover featuring Tony Stark. Unfortunately the movie was… disappointing.

Iron Man DVD Review A-

Next to Heath Ledger as the Joker, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is truly the best casting I’ve seen in a long while. There is simply no doubt about it, he IS Tony Stark.

The Dark Knight A-

This was probably the movie I was most excited to see this summer and it certainly does not disappoint. In fact, once The Dark Knight begins, it rarely lets up. Please note: this review contains SPOILERS!!

Hellboy II: The Golden Army B

With a summer chock full of superhero movies, does Hellboy II deliver? Find out here!
