IGP came about from the brainworkings of founder, editor, writer, gopher Shiromi “Nicki” Arserio. She often jokes that she started IGP because no other scifi magazine would hire her. In truth, her position as a blogger for Illusion TV dried up, so after months of driving webmonkey and copy editor Rob crazy, she finally decided to create the Inter-Galaxy Portal.

Along with writing for IGP and IllusionTV, Nicki has written short stories and novels, travel and outdoor articles, articles for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer site, as well as being a regular contributor for a Hawaii fashion magazine.

Our very own web monkey Rob is another long time member of geekdom. After many a day at the coffee shop with Nicki pouring over the latest sci-fi magazines,they decided to co-create the Inter-Galaxy Portal as a place where they could use their geek powers for good. Rob is retired military. He’s seen a lot of action, but luckily, no xenomorphs.
